What safeguards are in place to protect patient privacy? G. William N. Fitzgerald
- I don't understand the question.. It's the responsibility of every researcher to ensure her patients' confidentiality. Of course if we see any patient information here, we'll remove it! Tarek 01:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
What a brave publishing decision - congratulations - and the topic lends itself beautifully to the medium.
Your use of this concept in a totally clinical role overlooks, or at least doesn't seem to acknowledge, a big area for development I think. I regard the work I am exploring also as 'asynchronous telehealth' but it would not easily fit your descriptions here - viz: safe and protected electronic discussion forum links between professionals, clinics and families attending our (children's) hospital - the ability for families to actively exchange experiences and lifestyle choices to accommodate the ongoing needs of children with chronic conditions has great potential we feel. Asynchronous telehealth has a huge amount to offer in the psychosocial / educational areas as well as the clinical information exchange.
